How do I get the wireless networking icon back in network config of Linux (Ubuntu)?

I was trying to get the drivers loaded, I am using the zd1211rw, and the light comes on to the SafeCom USB device. But now the configuration? N? disappeared from the di? logo configuration? n network. ? Any thoughts on c? Mo I can get it back?

my computer runs windows xp I have it as the direct line to internet we set up a wireless network from it to my other computer that runs Ubuntu Linux but can’t find how to set up network are internet on the ubunti help please nothing seems to work
